According to CEC standard 4, beginning special education teachers should use a variety of assessments and data collection. Educators are prepared to address assessment reliability, validity, norms, and biases. Special education instructors also provide a clear interpretation of data collected during assessments. The HLPs that align with this standard are 4, 5, 6, and 19.
Artifact 1
Artifact 1 is a Behavioral Intervention Plan that I created for a student in a structured learning room. The BIP required me to conduct an interview with the student's teacher, collect and analyze data, and determine an intervention for the student. I have included the interview, collected data, and the BIP that was created from the data.
Artifact 2
Artifact 2 is an example of an class wide assessment I created and administered to high school students in a resource math setting. I administered this assessment to determine if the students had learned how to identify the different types of angles and triangles. The students were also assessed on their knowledge of supplementary and complementary angle pairs. This assessment was administered to determine if the students were ready to learn new concepts, and an analysis of the data is attached.
